Kitchen Floor and New Laundry Room

Due to the Blizzard of 2010 I was able to get a TON done on the house....

This is over 2 feet of snow after the FIRST storm. We got another 15 inches a few days later.

Ok, I know you have all been waiting for these so here they are! The first project was replacing the floor in the entryway. The entryway and kitchen had the same laminate flooring. I needed to replace the kitchen floor because there had been a leak from the dishwasher and it warped the floor in front of it. So, instead of having a bagillion different types of flooring, I replaced the entryway as well.

Here is the only "before" picture I have the the entryway. Please excuse the mess, I had just moved in.

Here is the space with the old floor ripped up and the cement board installed.

Here is the finished product!! I think it turned out great and love it!

Now, on to the kitchen....here are some "before" pictures.

The stained wood...getting one step closer!

I had to tape off the wood portion to install the tile.

Now, once the tiles were set and grouted (is that even a word??) I had to steam blast EVERY SINGLE TILE to get the grout out of all the divots...here is the before

All the tiles clean and ready for sealing and glossing!!!

And now....the moment everyone has been waiting for, THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!

The only thing left to finish in the kitchen is painting/installing the trim and building the breakfast bar.

So, one of my other projects was to relocate the washer and dryer. I have 3 rooms downstairs and decided to use one of them for a new laundry room. As you can see, the previous spot wasn't too good. Well, I didn't like it anyway.

You can kinda see the washer. The dryer is around the corner on the left.

I had to extend the plumbing and electrical. I know its not pretty, but it works and it's in a part of the house I won't be going into much anymore.

Here are the new connections. No leaks, no fire!! I would call it a success!

And here is what it looks like now. I plan on taking all the paneling down, painting, tiling the floor, adding a place to hang clothes, and adding cabinets and counters.

I'm not sure what the next project is yet. I still have a TON to do...stay tuned!!
