1/2 Bath is complete

Another project we worked on was the 1/2 bath. Things that were changed: Mirror (Thanks Mom!!), Faucet, outlet covers, hardware, floor and of course PAINT!! I just need to add the trim and put the last coat of gloss on the floor.

The goal for the rest of this week and weekend is to finish the floor in the entry way and possibly work on the staircase. But, who knows...

House Pictures!!

Last week, my Mom, Sister, Niece and Aunts Mary and Lois came out to help me get started on some projects around the house. They worked HARD! Thank you again, guys! You rock!! There is one room that is finally finished (for now). I still need to mount the tv and install the home theater, but that will have to wait.

Anyway, here is what it was before I moved in.

More House Pics

So, thought I would post some more exterior pics of the house. I am going to be posting rooms as they get done. And, for a little background...I closed on June 26 and left July 2 for 3 weeks!! I had the house a whole 5 days before leaving. Then home about a day and off again for a week. Thankfully, I am home for 3 straight weeks in August. My mom, aunt, sis, niece and a friend of the family are coming out for a "working vacation" and we are going to go to town. But, for the time I have been there I feel like a have made some progress.

Here is a picture of the front of my new house.

I have a ton of projects in the works. I have already replaced the 2 heating elements in the hot water heater, installed a new garbage disposal, hung about 14 blinds and installed the washer and dryer. The first project I could actually take pictures of took place tonight. I replaced the faucet in the kitchen. Here are the before and after shots.

Seychelles

Our trip from Madagascar ended in the Seychelles Islands. Beautiful place, not very many people. I believe in 2005 Travel Channel voted Seychelles with best beaches and they deserved it! Again, a map to give a general idea of where in the world the islands are....

Madagascar (no, not the movie)

We stayed in 2 cities in Madagascar (it is the island to the east of Africa). One was the capitol and the other just a normal city, Antsiranana. The place was very poor. We had beggars all over us wanting anything we would give them. One lady (we call her the "mista, mista" lady) followed us for at least 2 blocks saying over and over "Mista, Mista...feed the baby." So, one of the guys I was with gave her his remaining swig of water in his water bottle. You would have thought she won the lottery!! Makes you realize how much you take for granted!

The place looks like it was beautiful in its prime. The landscape was beautiful. I posted a map so you could get a general idea of where we were.

Air Madagascar...should I be nervous??
